Seeking Senior Communications Specialist
The Kansas Center for Economic Growth is seeking a senior communications specialist to implement our communications plan, draft and edit content for strategic communications, and develop and maintain relationships with state and local media. Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of successful professional experience in communications required; a blend of political, social, and/or nonprofit sector experience is preferred. Writing (including for digital platforms), editing, digital media and social media platforms experience required. Speech writing, marketing or public relations agency, and/or journalism experience preferred.
Successful candidates will have superior writing ability that is inspirational and straightforward as well as the ability to understand and interpret public policy and rewrite it accurately and simply for diverse audiences. We are looking for candidates with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment and who are highly creative, humble, comfortable with ambiguity, and interested in helping all Kansans prosper.
Technical proficiency with Office 365 and Adobe Creative Suite a plus. Exceptional time management and ability to manage multiple deadlines and communication calendars simultaneously will also be necessary to this position. The annual salary range for this position is $40,000-$60,000. Competitive benefits package available.
