Kansas Action for Children, a nonprofit policy organization, announced that Annie McKay will be its new president and CEO.

McKay now is the executive director of the Kansas Center for Economic Growth, a Topeka-based nonpartisan research group.

She replaces Shannon Cotsoradis, who worked at Kansas Action for Children for 19 years and will leave May 31 for a position at the Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative.

In a news release, McKay said challenges lie ahead with the state’s “ongoing budget crisis. Investments in Kansas’ youngest children are among the most efficient and effective dollars we spend in state government.”
